It is one of the most epic moments of Hindi cinema…
As the train chugged along, a sweet tune played on an uncanny instrument alerted Vandana (Sharmila Tagore) in the train, to Arun (Rajesh Khanna) driving a car alongside, singing what would become one of Hindi cinema’s most popular romantic numbers. The year was 1969, the film was Aradhana, the song was “Mere Sapnon Ki Rani,” and the uncanny instrument was the harmonica (mouth organ).
Legions of moviegoers in India got acquainted with this wonderful instrument through this and other soulful songs from Bollywood, like “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” (CID), “Khwab Ho Tum Ya Koi Haqeeqat” (Teen Deviyan), and more.
Cut to the present.
What if you and your colleagues were handed their very own harmonicas and challenged to belt out a soulful, haunting tune of your own? Here is what happens……
The Harmonica Challenge is designed to take your group from zero to music-maker during the course of a 45-minute to 1 ½ hour session. Our trained Rhythm Facilitator has designed this activity in such a way that there is something for literally everyone – from the most musically-challenged member of your team to the closet musician who learned mouth organ for a few years during their younger days.
Your team can create a tune then and there in the session. Alternatively, you can even request for our musical team to compose something that is uniquely for your team that you can keep and use as a signature tune in future meetings as well!
Is the Harmonica Challenge suited for your team?
Well, the Harmonica Challenge can be run for groups as small as 25 people to up to 5000 at a time. All you need is a slot of 45 – 90 minutes, preferably an indoor space, and willing participants!
Your team will remember this experience for years to come. As an added bonus, the harmonicas that your team uses in the session become their own personal harmonicas – a small takeaway from the session and a wonderful surprise to take back home after the conference! But that’s not all. They’ll also take back the images of Rajesh Khanna & Sharmila Tagore and the haunting strains of the Harmonica in their hearts.
Take your team back in time. Try to Harmonica Challenge today!
