Dr. Shalini Lal is an organizational thought leader who helps leaders understand and prepare themselves for “The Future of Work”. She has over 25 years of experience in the world of organizational development across industries, academia, and consulting.
She speaks extensively on “The Future of Work” on the mega-trends impacting people and organizations and what this means for the Future of Work. The future of work is about ways of work that foster flexibility and agility. It brings together trends such as the hybrid workplace, diverse work arrangements, the gig economy, digital-first cultures, inclusive leadership, increasing automation, and many others. She also set up Unqbe (‘Uncube’) – a global think-tank and advisory firm – which helps organisations navigate through the changing nature of work.
She also hosts a popular show on LinkedIn called the Future of Work Show, where she invites thought leaders from across the globe to discuss revolutionizing ideas about the way we work and live.
She holds a PhD in organizational science from UCLA and an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. Shalini has held several top leadership roles in human resources, including CHRO at Escorts Agri, Director of HR at Deutsche Bank, and Head of Organizational Development at Airtel.
Throughout her career, she has intensively worked with leadership teams of several Indian and global leading organizations.Furthermore, she is actively involved in promoting the Future of Work interest group at MDI and serves as a board member of IIM Jammu.
A prolific writer with a focus on the future of work, Shalini’s work has been featured in several leading publications, including HT Mint, The Economic Times, and Business Today. Her LinkedIn newsletter on the future of work has over 25,000 subscribers. She is also the author of the highly acclaimed book ‘The Secret Life of Organizations (Hachette, 2019), which offers valuable insights and guidance for individuals entering the workforce.
