LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®
Lego Serious Play is a facilitation technique that uses lego bricks to encourage creative thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication in group settings. It fosters a hands-on, collaborative approach to unlock innovation and deeper understanding within teams.
What is this about?
LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® is a unique way to build insight, confidence and commitment.
It is based on the belief that the best solutions are always arrived at when the collective wisdom of the organization is harnessed.
Especially suited for senior leadership teams, LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® is increasingly being adopted by many leading organizations as the method of choice for ensuring more participation, more insights & ideas, while addressing a variety of key organizational challenges.
These process-facilitated sessions encourage learners to use lego bricks to build models based on prompts, reflecting the purpose of the session or the main challenge that the session is looking to solve. Learners give meaning to these models and discuss them in their group. This process prompts crucial discussions that lead teams to solutions to problems they sought to solve through the session.
This kind of a session democratizes voices by allowing everyone a chance to share, and creates a ‘lean-forward’ environment where everyone is engaged in the process and discussions and is inspired to create, unlike in a conference room around a table.

Our approach in designing a LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® intervention
Begin with why
What is the business outcome we are targeting?
What are the learning outcomes for this session?
Qualify what can move the needle
One size never fits all.
Understand the learning cohort: demographics, experience, challenges.
Clarify that the learning event is not the finish line
Learning is a journey. The LSP session is only a pitstop.
What can be done before & after to support the learning?
Plan for the learning transfer
Knowledge x Transfer = Impact. A stand-alone LSP session can do only so much.
How can the learner apply learning back at the workplace?
Plan for measuring impact
What gets measured, gets done.
What data points can we credibly measure through the course of this intervention?
Where can you use LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®?
And more!

No. This can be run only as an in-person session.
The ideal number of people in a LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® session is 6-8. This ensures everyone in the room gets a chance to voice their thoughts and are heard. However, we have adapted these sessions for larger groups too when required using related methodologies.
LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® is usually run as a half or full-day in-person session. The duration needed totally depends on the scope of the intervention. This cannot be run in an express-mode of 60-90 minutes.
