Map the City Challenge
The more you know someone, the less you need to say, explain, defend or argue!
Imagine you are in a new city.
A city filled with sights and sounds, museums and monuments, heritage and modernity. This could be just any of the modern cities around the world. The task for you and your small band of colleagues is clear and crystal: identify a set of different spots across the city and decipher the clues that will help you unravel the not so hidden mysteries there!
And hey, there is one other small detail – you will be sitting miles away. Perhaps in another city or another continent, in front of your computer. And so will each of your other team mates!
This is a competitive activity where you will be racing against time and your colleagues working in other smaller groups. The activity is interspersed with smaller time bound challenges and bonus opportunities that keeps participants literally at the edge of their seats!
Like in all races in life, the smartest and the fastest team, which notches up the most number of points will win!
Map the City – is a fast paced activity that gets virtual teams engaged like few other activities do. The chat rooms start buzzing and virtual team members often have to figure out a way to moderate the flood of ideas and thoughts that different team members bring to the table. Time generally flies in this activity and participants are often left wondering about where all the time disappeared!
The activity can be run purely as an engagement activity or as an activity with a purposeful debrief at the end. When debriefed, the activity is brought to a close with participants sharing their different thoughts, experiences and insights from the activity and connecting the experience back to their different workplace situations. As a finale, we unveil the top 3 teams – to loud cheers from one and all.
