DESCRIBE YOUR EXPERIENCE AT FOCUSU

FocusU has been the best place to work. You challenge yourself, at the same time you have people to help you around so that you can challenge yourself. They don’t let you give up on yourself. It is a family in the true sense. People care about you. There are no judgements, but pure warmth. You believe in humanity when you work for an organization like FocusU, where people are passionate about their work and creating a difference. No politics, no boss giri, no maska polish, we are equal when it comes to work.

WHAT NEW SKILLS HAVE YOU DEVELOPED AT FOCUSU?
I have got to wear different hats and have picked up many skills here.
⦁ I was the HR lead for the region: planning celebrations & taking care of the office.
⦁ I was also encouraged to try doing energizers in programs. It felt tough initially, but with a supportive team, who have always egged me on, it has all been possible.
⦁ I love reading books, but I have difficulty in focusing to read and taking in the knowledge. So I have picked up the skill of writing a synopsis after completing the book.
⦁ Making flawless proposals.
⦁ Being caring towards others. Being open to share my feelings.

WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO CHOOSE FOCUSU?
The passionate team, the cohesiveness, the work we do, the belief that “play can add meaning to work “. The simplicity, humbleness of the people.
WHAT HAS SURPRISED YOU THE MOST ABOUT BEING HERE?
Multiple things have surprised me. Like, even in personal situations my FocusU family has always been besides me, giving me strength to survive it. My home family was their family. The stress on mental health, flexible work hours, the personalised letters that we get from the LT team, the love and trust that clients repose on FocusU, the passionate team and the ethics while running programs.

WHAT KEEPS YOU HERE?
The people, the bond we share. Everyday coming to work feels like coming home from home. The work we do, the clients that trust us and the belief they have in our work.

HAVE YOU BEEN ABLE TO FOLLOW YOUR INTERESTS?
I haven’t as yet, but I have realized it and am on my way to pursue it. I will do courses this year for personal development – I am being motivated by my colleagues to do so.
