Glen Pinto | Insider Speak | FocusU Experience - FocusU

WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE ENGAGEMENT SO FAR?

There are many! The 1st time when I lead a workshop, all my solo checks, our goa, lonavala & allibaug offsites with the Wildwest team and when I led the HUL 700 people workshop. The most memorable one was my induction day when Siddu, Saka & Drishti welcomed me to the family. That day I finally felt I’m a part of something beautiful.

WHAT NEW SKILLS HAVE YOU DEVELOPED AT FOCUSU?
Facilitation – Public speaking was always a big challenge for me. never thought that I would do something like this 5 years back. Talking in front of 10 people was a big task and I would mostly shy away from speaking. FocusU made me believe that with the right amount of hard work and a little push one could achieve the impossible. Now i can speak easily in front of 700 people. With that I have learnt movie editing, leading a team and also coaching others.

WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO CHOOSE FOCUSU?
When I joined FocusU I had decided that I would work for 6 months and leave for Dubai. However, after meeting Siddu, Rakesh, Arun and Maressa I started believing that I could finally do something good with my life. I still remember Siddu doing a keypunch debrief once and changing people’s perspective in a positive way. I wanted to make a similar difference and decided to stay on in FocusU. Since then it’s been 4 years!

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE FOCUSU CULTURE?
I would describe the FocusU culture as being a warm, close knit family with a passionate bunch of people. Once an experienced associate told us that people in FocusU want everyone to succed and they want to move ahead together. The person also mentioned that we take care of each other like a family. That person was right because I do feel like I am working in a family.

WHAT KEEPS YOU HERE?
The challenges I have overcome and the bond that I have created with the FocusU family. Every challenge that is given to me make me nervous all the time. Sometimes I myself doubt whether I can do a challenge given to me or not. But everyone in the FocusU family trusts me more than I can trust myself – and that makes all the difference.
