Emergenetics is the merging of two ideas – our behaviour emerging from our life experiences and our genetic traits. It provides a clear way to understand this intersection of nature and nurture through the Emergenetics Profile, built on four Thinking Attributes and three Behavioural Attributes that every person exhibits.

Emergenetics is a particularly good tool to be used in the context of Leadership because:

Emergenetics begins with an online assessment which is taken around 2 weeks before the actual workshop. In the actual Meeting of the Minds workshop, participants are guided through a step-by-step process – interspersed with a lot of activities, through which the thinking and the behavior attributes are brought to life.

Once individual reports are shared and clarified suitably by participants, the workshop then moves on to showcase the diversity within the team on the different attributes. The workshop is a revealing and surprising experience for participants. “Oh yes, now I understand!!” (followed by lot of laughter and gasps of disbelief) is an often-heard refrain in these workshops. The workshops are also very rich in contextually relevant discussions on attitudes and reactions of different people to change, conflict, etc. For Leaders in the room, the workshop gives deep insights on people and how best to manage & coach them.
