Customised year-long program to upskill Syngene’s team members and leads in their competency framework

Syngene partnered with FocusU to design a year-long upskilling program to enhance the “Works Collaboratively” competency for team members and team leads, part of Syngene’s broader five-competency framework. The program aimed to improve skills in collaboration, empathy, and adaptability, aligning with Syngene’s goals for effective teamwork and support across all employee levels.

FocusU curated and delivered 29 virtual sessions between May and December 2023, each lasting 2-3 hours and incorporating experiential activities and practical discussions. Pre- and post-assessments were conducted to measure progress, revealing notable improvements; for example, one group’s competency understanding rose from 56% pre-session to 85% post-session, with other groups showing similar gains. Participants shared intentions to apply the skills in real-world scenarios, particularly in areas like empathy, goal alignment, and cross-functional collaboration.

Feedback highlighted the sessions’ interactivity, practical relevance, and impact on collaborative skills, with participants expressing enthusiasm about applying the techniques in daily work. The program successfully strengthened Syngene’s collaborative culture, building competency and confidence across its teams.
