Mastering Time Management: Immersive Learning Intervention to Enhance Employee Time Management Skills

Beam Suntory partnered with FocusU to enhance employee time management skills through an immersive learning program called the “Time Trek Challenge.” Recognizing the limitations of traditional workshops, Beam Suntory sought a practical, interactive approach where employees could experiment with time management strategies in a virtual, low-stakes environment.

The intervention began with a Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) session covering time management principles, including the Eisenhower Matrix and “Eat That Frog” methods. Following this, the Time Trek Challenge immersed participants in a virtual office environment where they managed tasks, prioritized responsibilities, and adapted to real-world-like scenarios. This setup allowed employees to explore their own working styles by selecting characters that suited their roles, navigating time-related challenges, and undergoing energy checks to reflect on productivity.

The experiential nature of the program revealed individual strengths and helped participants develop personalized strategies. Feedback indicated that the challenge not only made time management relatable and actionable but also fostered lasting behavioral shifts. The initiative successfully bridged the gap between theory and practical application, empowering employees to optimize productivity in their daily routines​.
