From Campus to Corporate: IOCL’s Comprehensive Induction Program for Management and Graduate Engineer Trainees
Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) collaborated with FocusU to design a three-day induction program, “Campus to Corporate,” for new Management Trainees (MT) and Graduate Engineer Trainees (GET). The objectives were to familiarize participants with IOCL’s core values, foster a shift from individualistic to team-oriented thinking, and encourage adaptability and effective communication.
Day 1 addressed why IOCL hired each trainee, highlighting their “ability to think” and introducing the “Creativity Cycle” by Roger Von Oech. Day 2 focused on building confidence in communication, preparing trainees to share ideas effectively. Day 3 emphasized teamwork, guiding participants through experiential challenges that underscored the importance of collaboration and IOCL’s core values.
The program concluded with reflections, fostering camaraderie and solidifying the trainees’ transition into IOCL. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with participants expressing newfound self-awareness, teamwork appreciation, and confidence. The program successfully immersed new trainees in IOCL’s culture, establishing a solid foundation for their future growth within the organization.
