Fostering Team Collaboration through Experiential Learning for a Health & Safety Organisation in Mauritius

A Health & Safety organization in Mauritius partnered with FocusU to strengthen collaboration among a nine-member team of officers who had limited prior interaction. The new head of Health & Safety, familiar with FocusU’s team-building expertise, sought an engaging solution to foster camaraderie, effective communication, and teamwork tailored to health and safety.

FocusU designed an in-person, full-day experiential learning workshop that incorporated ice-breakers and three main activities emphasizing situational leadership, planning, and the importance of good relationships. Each activity was customized to align with health and safety principles, making the learning experience both relevant and enjoyable for participants. The debrief sessions connected team-building insights to their professional roles, reinforcing practical application.

The workshop received unanimous praise, with participants rating it 10/10 for engagement, enjoyment, and impact. Feedback highlighted the session’s fun and effectiveness, and the head of Health & Safety noted the program exceeded expectations, building a strong foundation for future team cohesion and collaboration.
