facebook LPI® 360 Leadership Assessment for Senior Leaders | FocusU

Leading by Intent

A 360° leadership mirror and re-measure for senior teams, built on the Leadership Practices Inventory® (LPI).

The higher you rise, the less honest feedback you get. This is a structured way to see how your leadership actually lands, choose a few deliberate shifts, and prove, in your own scores, that the needle moved.

When was the last time your senior leaders got honest feedback?

Senior leaders rarely lack ability. What they lack is candid input. The higher you go, the fewer people tell you the truth about how you lead, and the easier it becomes to lead by instinct rather than by intent.

LPI®: Leadership Practices Inventory®

The LPI® is a research-based 360° assessment used by more than five million leaders worldwide, built on over forty years of research by Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner. It measures how often a leader actually demonstrates The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership®.

Senior leaders trust it because:

  • It measures behaviour, what leaders do, not personality. That makes it a development tool, not a label.
  • It is one of the most rigorously validated leadership instruments in the world, tested across more than 750 independent studies and holding up consistently across cultures, geographies and seniority.
  • It links leadership behaviors to the outcomes senior leaders care about: engagement, commitment and performance.
  • It is not a one-time verdict. It is a baseline they return to, to prove for themselves how far they have moved.

For leaders who are rightly sceptical of assessments, that evidence base is what earns it a seat at the table.

Light on calendar time, heavy on
personal relevance

Built for a small group of senior leaders, this is a focused, high-touch path rather than a
multi-day classroom programme. It respects their time, keeps the work personal, and still
builds a shared language across the team. The journey runs in short, deliberate touchpoints.

Diagnose with honest data

LPI 360+ assessment (pre-work). Each leader, plus a set of observers they choose, completes the assessment online. This is the baseline, and the first honest mirror many of them have had in years.

Understand what it means

a shared session (2 to 3 hours). The leaders come together to understand the Five Practices, the research behind them, and how to read an LPI report with honesty and without defensiveness.

Design a few deliberate shifts

a private 1:1 debrief (one session each). A confidential debrief with a certified FocusU coach, where the report becomes a small number of deliberate personal shifts and a plan the leader owns.

Transfer into how the leader actually leads

optional 1:1 executive coaching. For leaders who want to go further, sustained coaching turns the chosen shifts into durable change.

Prove the needle moved

LPI 360 re-measure. After an agreed interval, usually nine to twelve months, each leader is re-assessed. The shift shows up in their own scores, giving a clear read on movement over time and a decision point on what to do next.

A group of managers and team leaders, ideal participants for The Five Behaviors program.

Who would this ideally be suitable for?

This intervention is specifically tailored for the most senior leaders (CxOs, Leadership team members, Founders) and their inner circle, and the handful of people whose behaviour sets the tone for everyone else.
It is the right fit when:

  • You want to develop a small group of senior people, deliberately, with feedback they will trust.
  • The goal is real behaviour change, not another offsite.
  • You want a way to see movement over time, not just a one-day experience.
