What if all your teams truly appreciated the importance of inter-departmental collaboration image

What if all your teams truly appreciated the importance of inter-departmental collaboration?

Friday Night at the ER® is a proven simulation used to drive different messages:

  • Systems Thinking: Understanding how individual decisions impact the broader organization.
  • Collaboration: Breaking down silos and fostering cross-functional teamwork.
  • Agility: Adapting to changing scenarios with limited resources.
  • Leadership: Realising the importance of proactive decision-making and taking shared responsibility.

Can your team handle the pressure of a hospital’s busiest night?

Friday Night at the ER® is an immersive, fast-paced simulation that places your team in the heart of a hospital during its most critical 24 hours. Each participant manages a different department—Emergency, Surgery, ICU, or Bed Management—and must collaborate to provide quality care amidst unpredictable challenges.

This isn’t about medical knowledge; it’s about decision-making, teamwork, and systems thinking under pressure. As the clock ticks, your team will navigate resource constraints, sudden crises, and the need for swift, strategic collaboration.

The Friday Night at the ER® Workshop

  • Friday Night at the ER® challenges teams of four to manage a hospital during a simulated 24-hour period. What they learn will surprise them!
  • Successful teams apply three core strategies—moving from silo thinking to systems thinking—to improve their organization’s performance.
  • The Simulation (60 minutes): The game is like a practice field. Teams see the results of their actions play out in front of them, and they have the opportunity to make changes during the game to improve performance.
  • The Group Debrief (90 minutes): After scores are calculated, participants engage in a debrief that includes team reflection, guided group discussion, and tasks that help turn the lessons into action.

FocusU has always made learning interesting. Topics are converted into activities and the learning from the activities are then discussed - which makes us relate to it in real time. The best part is there is no PPT and the team is always takes inputs for discussion. A facilitator is definitely more knowledgeable than the people who attend the training. The key is how you hold your intelligence within yourself and get down to the level of attendees.

We needed a competent, experienced, confident and flexible partner and FocusU performed with excellence. It was not easy to keep a group of highly experienced doctors and seasoned professionals engaged. FocusU team did a great job navigating the group with confidence. We all enjoyed and therefore learned through the process with lots of laughter, fun and new insights.

The Leadership workshop helped all of us to take a step back and analyse ourselves on the kind of leadership traits we have and that we don’t have. How we could all become better leaders and help others grow along with us.

FocusU was a simple Google search for me. Having said that, there were other training firms whose details also showed up. But right from the time that I established my first contact with them, there has not been an instance where I had to follow up with their team. Extremely proactive, understand their clients needs and the best part - they customize the training requirements really well!

Thank you for an excellent senior management intervention (AGM – AVP level) using the Leadership Challenge construct. The program aimed to develop leaders embodying our brand. The intervention included conducting a diagnostic and designing the workshop to suit the need of the target audience, which FocusU did impeccably.
