Building Bonds Beyond Work: Marico India’s Team Bonding Workshop for the Factory Commercial Management Team

Marico India engaged FocusU to conduct a team bonding workshop for its Factory Commercial Management (FCM) team. Though the nine-member team had been working together for over a year, their relationships were largely transactional, with limited personal connection. With a new team leader onboard, the goal was to foster deeper connections and unity.

The workshop, held in an informal setting at Marico’s guesthouse, began with energizers to relax the team, followed by experiential activities where members shared their thoughts on team dynamics through prompts like “What are we glad about?” and “What do we wish we had?” After lunch, the focus shifted from thoughts to emotions. Using the Johari Window and an exercise called “The Iceberg,” team members revealed personal beliefs, values, and experiences, deepening mutual understanding.

Participants reported a transformative experience, feeling they had moved from colleagues to friends. Feedback highlighted the program’s success in enhancing interpersonal connections and creating a supportive team culture, laying the foundation for improved collaboration and engagement​.
