WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO CHOOSE FOCUSU?
My decision to join FocusU wasn’t an easy one!
Rakesh was the first one I met in the interview process and he seemed astonishingly grounded to be the director of the company. Whatever he told me about the culture sounded too good to be true. Coming from a corporate background and having worked at typical start-ups, I couldn’t believe the kind of culture and values FocusU embodies. Honestly, I was sceptical. But these were the very things that ultimately made me choose FocusU.
Next, when I met Arun, I was further amazed. I was convinced that whatever be the business case for this company, I’m surely joining people who care and look beyond resumes.
WHAT HAS SURPRISED YOU THE MOST ABOUT BEING HERE?
What surprises me the most is the sheer commitment and passion everyone brings to the table. The work that we do and the impact that we try to create each day is an absolute priority for each one of us.
WHAT KEEPS YOU HERE?
What keeps me here is exactly what I was apprehensive about, the culture and the values.
Every day is a day of learning and at my own pace. The whole place feels like a family that protects you, helps you grow, lets you make mistakes and celebrates all your achievements-big or small.
There is so much room to add value to the work that we do, and it is not restricted by the role you’re hired for.
HOW HAVE YOU LIVED THE FOCUSU MISSION OF: WE BEFORE ME?
Being in sales makes one competitive and that is kind of the rule in the profession. At FocusU, we believe in helping each other succeed. While I struggled initially with the expectation of achieving goals collectively, the fact that being a go-giver is a competency for the business development function has helped me live the value.
In the work that we do, we advise clients on how they can inculcate the same culture in their organisations. We constantly maintain in our workshops that “We” is greater than any “I”.
IS LIFE AT FOCUSU WHAT YOU EXPECTED?
It simply isn’t. It is much more and absolutely amazing!
