Transforming Lives: HUL Homecare’s Team Engagement through the Home Make-over Challenge
Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) partnered with FocusU to design a unique team-building and brand engagement activity for 120 employees from its Homecare division. Collaborating with event partner Shobiz, FocusU developed the “Home Make-over Challenge,” a CSR-inspired initiative that transformed homes of lower-middle-class families in Jaipur using primarily HUL Homecare products.
Divided into 10 teams, participants were assigned a household to revamp within a four-hour timeframe. The challenge involved careful planning, preparation, and resource allocation, including a virtual budget for purchasing materials. Teams procured items such as curtains, lamps, and cleaning supplies from a setup market and worked collaboratively to transform their designated homes. Husbands of the homeowners were enlisted to discreetly coordinate with FocusU, ensuring the homeowners’ absence during the makeover.
The results were captured on video, highlighting the surprised and delighted reactions of the returning homeowners. The event was praised for its impact, with Shobiz’s Account Director commending FocusU for its seamless execution and attention to detail, delivering a memorable experience that combined social impact with team bonding.
